About Clare Goodall Artist

Our surroundings have an impact on our lives. I feel compelled to address this in my artwork.

Creative colourful environments lift our spirits and bring joy to our day.

My arts practice involves working on commissions for private homes and workplaces to larger projects with architects, interior designers and local councils. This can involve facilitating creative workshops with groups or individuals.

I like to work with people in their communities to help them tell stories, and create new landmarks giving new identities to these locations such as well-being and community settings hospitals and schools.

My training in Textile Design at Chelsea School of Art and Goldsmiths College in the 1980s helped me realise my interest in transforming spaces. Projects since have included mural-painted ceilings and walls, Mosaic panels mirrors and sculptures, textile wall hangings and recycled art for gardens/events.

The therapeutic nature of creativity has become an important aspect. I like to produce art pieces that can bring comfort, peace and a sense of uplift to an environment.

Art is for everyone. Working with people who are recovering from illness, have vulnerabilities or need an outlet to be expressive has deepened my understanding of the process and importance of creativity.
